Why Math Intrinsically Explains the Universe and Why Music is Beautiful

Someone told me philosophers aren’t sure why math is able to explain the universe, or really able to explain what numbers are, claiming they're some flighty concept birthed from our observations of the world. Famously, I'm not the biggest fan of philosophy, but I suppose i could throw my hat in the ring.

Anyone who studies physics should be intimately aware that the universe is made of structures. Structures are geometry.

Numbers are linguistic, or mathematical, symbols for geometric configurations. (This becomes more apparent in matrix math.) Thus, eloquent mathematical equations are not unlike literary explanations of Legos coming together to make out phenomena.

Meanwhile, music and musical notes are the auditory translation of these geometric configurations, laid out spatiotemporally in some subset time. (Hence, chords and intervals and musical shapes.) Great art and colors can be the visual translation of these geometric configurations, laid out spatiotemporally in some subset space. (Assuming that space and time are different things, though they are fundamentally not.)

Indeed, by this model, Beethoven's 9th symphony could be the auditory equivalent of a great natural landscapes or Elizabethan architecture. However, all of this is simply geometric structures, not unlike a constellation in the night sky perceived as such. A nascent and subtle reminder of the potentialities from which creation was birthed.

Taste and smell could be biochemical translations, while touch mechanic ones. (Though arguably, all that which is channeled by the 5 senses can be considered biochemical/mechanical, with the brain/body translating then into our perceptions, even to this rebellious Gen Z panpsychist.)

Understanding waves to be a type of basal structure, that can undergo constructive interference, our sense of enjoyment, of phenomena, can be analogous to other wavelike structures undergoing a type of constructive interference, or merger. The elements that make up a phenomena make up a wave, and we create a new wave entirely upon interaction. Thus, shaping our geometry differently as people. Truly the observer is not separate from the observed, in this model. Geometric configurations are consciousness.

That's just what I think. This is what happens when you have tons of thoughts on things, but no one seems to want your opinions anymore! Follow your bliss folks! The greatest intelligence is the intelligence of love!

Blissfully yours,

Kaelme (Kay-Lum)
